Grey
Grounded in a queer, earth-centered studio practice, Grey Vanderwoude is a multidisciplinary fine artist and creative director making visual art across a variety of mediums. Their current practice explores a multimedia collage process, blending and pulling elements from mediums including photography, painting, illustration, fashion, textile, and larger scale installation work.
Originally from Cincinnati, their undergraduate studies started in a studio arts program at Miami University (OH) and expanded to finish with a BFA in the multidisciplinary Integrated Design program at Parsons School of Design in NYC. While in undergrad they also participated in Silver Art Projects Digital Art Residency in New York during fall of 2021. Supported by experience as a theatrical scenic designer, fashion designer, creative director, studio assistant, mural artist, and photographer, their studio art practice is expanding from 2D visual art forms into larger scale work and continues to act as a foundation for their creative direction with music and performance artists.
